Tony Yu, MBA

Tony is a highly experienced consultant who successfully delivered consulting and complex client projects with intricate interdependencies. He helps his clients in designing and implementing changes that sticks. He is able to do this because he acutely understands that bringing good ideas into reality requires designing the solutions that address root causes of any problem and paying attention to the people dynamics within the organizations.

Tony brings a focus of the human lens to all his projects. As a seasoned change practitioner, he understands that in order to design and implement any solutions successfully, one must address both the hearts and the minds of the organization. He believes that good consultants can provide logically-sound recommendations but great consultants design solutions tailored to the people in the organization.

He brings expertise in projects such as organizational review, strategic and operational planning, and program performance evaluation. he can quickly call out the right issues and design appropriate solutions for each unique scenario. He brings experience in working with post-secondary institutions, regulators, public health units, health services agencies, settlement agencies, and different levels of government.

Michael Schlesinger, MIRHR

Michael has been at this for over 30 years. He has chosen to dedicate most of his career to supporting not-for-profit and public sector organizations. The “Sense” part of Sense and Nous represents the “Heart”. Michael focuses his expertise in amalgamations, organizational designs, expert facilitation and leadership support with this element top of mind. While he has developed significant expertise in a range of areas, it is his compassion, empathy and connection with the people he works with that creates meaningful and actionable results.

Michael holds a Masters of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from U. of T. Michael is also a seasonal lecturer in that same program in the area of Consulting Skills Practice and Theory. Michael has been a member of several volunteer boards, including Achilles International Canada (where he is also a running guide for visually impaired athletes), Camp Ramah in Canada and currently, Neshama Hospice.

Patricia Kay, PhD

Patricia is an expert in the design and implementation of compensation structures, including a focus on pay for performance criteria.  She is also an expert in the design and analysis of job roles and functions.  Patricia possesses strong project management skills and has implemented multiple large-scale systems transformations.  In addition to her multi-faceted consulting experience, Patricia has lectured at multiple universities in the areas of Strategic Compensation, Human Resources Management and  Industrial and Labour Relations.

While ensuring that pay is both market-competitive and internally equitable is essential, Patricia believes this is only one aspect of the employee value proposition. Her consulting approach is to ensure that an organization is leveraging everything at its disposal to attract and retain the best possible talent.

 
 

MARIAM KILYANA

Mariam has worked as a digital designer and developer for clients from digital marketing agencies to start-ups. She came to realize her passion within the technological landscape was in fact helping solve human problems with technological solutions. She’s been able to leverage her experiences to consult on large-scale web system migration projects, cybersecurity risks, SEO and marketing, and challenge existing workflows to improve efficiency with project management as a constant foundation.

Mariam believes that modern day problems require modern day solutions, and technological innovation is essential to an easier and more efficient work-life experience.

 

JULIE GAUDET

Julie is a bilingual senior mental health, post-secondary and psychiatry nursing professional, with a high level of skill in teaching, coaching and mentoring with adult learners and health care professionals.

An effective leader, with superior skills in communication, project management, operational management and consulting. Extensive experience in a wide variety of clinical, management and academic positions with a proven commitment to excellence in post-secondary education and clinical practice.

 

Tim burns

Tim brings extensive, relevant senior policy, planning and change management experience. Tim has detailed familiarity with long-term care home operations, strategies and redevelopment. 

Tim was responsible for over 60 development agreements. Tim has strong knowledge of the sector and a very deep affinity for the needs of seniors. He has been a champion for the common assessment strategy and improvements to behavioural care.

In addition, Tim was responsible for long-term care home licencing approvals and oversaw the implementation of the Long-Term Care Homes Act when it was proclaimed in 2010.
